Health Insurance

It typically is the insurance benefit most employees are interested in, but it is also can be the most expensive insurance benefit for both the employer and the employee. Employer-sponsored health insurance coverage is an opportunity for both the employer and the employee to share in the costs of the coverage. Carriers typically offer a variety of coverage options to allow choices to be made with regard to benefits and costs.

Dental Insurance

Dental Insurance is a common benefit for an employer-sponsored plans.

This benefit is typically offered on a Voluntary Basis, meaning the employee pays for the entire costs of the coverage. But because it is offered by your employer, typically the costs are lower and the benefits are more attractive compared to plans offered on the individual market. Dental plans can include coverage for preventive, basic, and major services at varying benefit levels. Plans can also include orthodontia coverage. Some carriers will offer dual options, allowing an employer to provide you with choices which best fit your coverage and financial needs.

This benefit is typically offered on a Voluntary Basis, meaning the employee pays for the entire costs of the coverage It allows an employee the opportunity to purchase life insurance with a guaranteed issue amount, which means there are no health questions required to be answered nor is there a medical exam required to obtain coverage upon initial enrollment. Many plans will allow additional coverage to be obtained through answering health questions and submitting an Evidence of Insurability form as required by the specific carrier.

Long Term Disability Insurance

Long Term Disability coverage is income protection for you should you become disabled due to sickness or injury and are unable to work due to the disability. Long Term Disability typically has an elimination period of at least three months and could be six months or more. Depending on the outline of coverage, you could receive benefits for a number of years and possibly to retirement age.​

There are a number of ancillary products which can be offered by an employer-sponsored plan.

These benefits are typically offered on a Voluntary Basis, meaning the employee pays for the entire costs of the coverage These products are re-imbursement type, meaning any benefits paid come directly to you to help with paying expenses to compliment your health insurance coverage. Typical policy types are Accident, Cancer, Critical Illness, andHospital Confinement. These policies pay a variety of benefits, some including a lump sum payment, depending on the outline of coverage. ​
